Achievements Until Now:
From 1993 onwards annually humanitarian aid consisting of food, clothes, school material and furniture have been imported and distributed among needy people (veterans, large families, orphans, invalids, refugees). From 2005 onwards, 170 elderly people receive material and social support weekly in Zheleznodorozhny.ECB Kovcheg has organised in partnership with Dorcas Aid International the distribution of food parcels to 150 elderly people and organised meetings for them. Also, they organised activities for 20-25 teenagers, like hobby groups, sports and summer camps.
Target group:
Needy people (veterans, large families, orphans, invalids, refugees), Jewish communities and elderly people.
Problem Program Addresses:
Since many years, the situation in the Caucasus region is instable due to several armed conflicts with thousands of victims and even more refugees. Although the Russia-Chechnya war has ended now, many refugees have not returned home but still live under difficult circumstances. The economy of Russia is still not functioning well. Local authorities are not able to take care of the socially neglected people due to lack of funding. Pensioners are the ones who suffer most of the consequences of the market economy.
Purpose:
To improve and facilitate the access to food and clothing for needy people in North Caucasus through local partner NOMCC. Well-being and quality of life for 200 people from the Jewish community improved, and rendering of social care to the most vulnerable people in society. Well-being and quality of life for marginalized elderly people and prospects for vulnerable teenagers improved.
Main Activities:
Import and distribution of humanitarian aid.
