Hundreds of elderly have been supported through this program and received material, medical and social support.
Target Group:
The loneliest and poorest elderly.
Problem Program Addresses:
Many elderly and poor people in Romania live in social isolation. Their monthly pension is not enough to live on. Many times children live far away or lack the means to provide extra support. Therefore, Dorcas supports local organisations and churches to provide support to these elderly in their community.
Purpose:
To provide basic needs for poor elderly and to end their social isolation. Physical, mental and spiritual care is provided for elderly people in a desperate situation.
Main Activities:
Material support and other services such as medical care, covering for bills of basic needs, are provided. Trainings are executed for partners and communities. Pastoral care and recreational & social programmes are also provided for the elderly.
