Achievements Until Now:
More than 1000 elderly have been assisted with material goods, psycho-social support during visits, invitations to different activities organized by local churches, and distribution of food parcels.
Target Group:
Elderly people who live on low pensions.
Problem Program Addresses:
Poverty and social isolation. With a small pension, life for many old people is hard in Moldova, especially for those who do not have a family or someone to take care of them, those who are handicapped or sick and don't have a possibility to receive proper medical treatment.
Purpose:
Improve the well-being of selected elderly physically, materially, emotionally and spiritually.
Main Activities:
Visits to elderly. Financial support in special needs, like for medications or for covering bills of basic needs. Distribution of food parcels. Elderly are invited to special events, like holiday celebrations (Christmas, Easter).
