Achievements Until Now:
(Wikivuvwa) The project has constructed 20 houses for 20 households and 5 more are under construction in 2010. The project proposes to construct 12 houses for 2011. (Kitise) The project has constructed 21 houses while 5 houses are under construction in 2010. The project seeks to construct 12 new houses in 2011.
Target Group:
24 poor and vulnerable households mainly composing of orphans, widows/widowers, elderly and households without incomes.
Problem Program Addresses:
Poor housing conditions and inability of the poorest families to participate in community development activities.
Purpose:
Create access to good housing for the poor and vulnerable households.
Main Activities: Identify beneficiaries, assemble construction materials and make bricks on sites, facilitate construction of houses in 24 households, train the beneficiaries in Primary Health Care, assist the beneficiaries to make utensil racks, dig rubbish pits and VIP latrines, train the beneficiaries in environmental conservation, beneficiaries plant trees in their compounds, assist the beneficiaries to install energy saving stoves, solar panels etc.
