On the 1st September, David O'Brien (Chairman for Dorcas Aid International & South Africa) & Justin Stevens, a long time climbing partner & friend will be travelling to Nepal to climb Mount Mera. They have both climbed together since 1997 and have already climbed Mount Kilimanjaro via Arrow Glacier in 1999. It has been their dream over the last few years to conquer another big mountain.

Although the motivation for climbing Mount Mera is for personal reasons they have both decided to use the the climb as a fund raising exercise. As David has stated, "we would like some good to come of it & Justin and I would like to raise funds for 2 children's homes through this trip."
The idea is to obtain sponsorship for each meter ascended towards the goal of climbing Mount Mera. They are both physically fit and strong and should be able to do the climb, but there are many variables that could prevent them from summiting, amongst them, altitude sickness and bad weather. Being sponsored to climb would certainly be an additional motivation for both of them. The 2 homes they would like to raise funds for are featured in the PowerPoint show. Dorcas Aid & J29 Community Care organisations are both registered Non Profit Organisations and registered with SARS as Public Benefit Organisations and are able to offer Section 18A Tax Receipts to individuals or companies.
Please request a Tax Receipt if you would like one for your contribution.
If you wish to partner with David & Justin, then please fill in the form provided and fax or e-mail it to Mark Williams at Dorcas Aid. He will administer this sponsorship and stay in touch with all participating. Climb For Kids Sponsor FormPowerpoint Show
